Redwood Facts

Redwood trees originate from the west cost of america. They can reach hights larger than that of the statue of liberty. Road tunnels can be made through them. People have made buildings from the trunk of a giant redwood. Redwoods really are an amazing tree specie. There are three types of redwood: Giant – the largest mass of any tree specie on earth, Coastal – Tallest tree specie on earth

The First Saplings

So, heres the start of the forrest, the first few saplings:

Here you can see the sapling as a small curve with the seed case still attched

Here is a baby giant redwood with its seed case still attached but standing up at about 2 cm High

 

In total i now have three saplings each about 2 cm high, and im expecing more very soon. I recently collected over 30 cones full of seeds :)

Redwood Online Forrest…

So, as you know; this is the online blog for redwoods, or the online forrest. Im also considering making a website to go with this blog, but that will depend on the popularity of this blog. So, in my next post i will introduce you to the first trees of the online redwood forrest. The basic idea is that you can track the tree’s progress online. Also you’ll find out quite a bit from my posts about redwoods, good locations of redwoods, how to do certain things ect. So sit back and enjoy.
